Book Review: Duct Tape Marketing by John Jantsch

You know when you read something and you think “ I knew that!” or “Why didn’t I think of that before?” – but you never consciously thought about it, that is when you know you are reading something relevant and informative, to you and your life, business or otherwise.

John’s book is full of those moments, when he talks about ” A Solution to THE Small Business Problem“, marketing. His book fills any bootstrappers heart with joy as he takes you step-by-step to developing your own marketing plan. Along the way you will find many suggestions, like “Why the post office is a great resource” and many more.

Any if you’re thinking about marketing, you should consider this book. As John said:

“If you get nothing else from this book, get this: You are are in the marketing business! Marketing is an all-ecompassing outlook that must inform every activity of you business.”

I loved reading it and can recommend it to you. Duct Tape Marketing is available via John’s blog and Amazon in the US or UK. ST.

   One company has taken that title too seriously as I’ve actually got a duct tape wallet. It even came with replacement bits of duct tape to let you patch it up with.

   Do yourself a favor: go to Amazon.com and spend a measly 10 bucks on John Jantsch’s Duct Tape Marketing Guide. I found his advice on making my website a productive one especially relevant for my situation.

   I think people often forget that whether or not you know it you are a marketer. Everything you do and everywhere you go, you are representing something. The way people enteract with eachother either as a customer or shop owner is conveying a message. The key is to recognize that and perfect it.
