UK fails on World Bank’s Criteria For “Doing Business 2008″

by Stefan Töpfer on Oct 16, 2007

In an article from Jeff Cornwall over at The Entrepreneurial Mind, he highlights parts of “The World Bank’s Annual Doing Business” report, key findings are:

1- Lower tax rates and a simple tax system
2- Minimal regulatory hurdles for new businesses to start and fewer regulations effecting operating small businesses.
3- Strong protection of private property rights.

After the tax-hike in the Pre-Budget Report of last week, we can conclude that the UK, run by Mr. Brown’s Labour government, fails all those tests. ST.
