With Skype In, you can assign multiple “real” telephone numbers to your skype name, so calls to any of them come to your skype name…. Currently, you need to be at a pc to take these calls or use Skype Out credit to forward them on to a mobile or landline….

One handy app I use for texting my friend’s mobile phone is the textcanada.ca website.
You can send a text message to anyone in Canada right from your computer.
It’s much easier to send a text message from your computer with a full size keyboard.

I am sure that in a very few short years all calls will be made this way. Can anyone remember when the first mobile phones were introduced ? People said that they would not catch on, very similar to the internet !

Skypein not now but in the future? This is interesting. Could it be that either the numbers will be mobile or other premuim rate instead of regular landline? or perhaps have inbound charges? lets hope not. i expect that we will se soom third party workaround quite soon to bring landline number numbers to these phones if skype does not hurry up.
